Materials for families include brochures and flyer. Most are available in English and Spanish. The following materials are aimed to educate about lead poisoning and encourage families and individuals to test for lead.

BROCHURES FOR FAMILIES


  • Childhood Lead Exposure explains lead and it’s effect on children’s health, possible lead sources, blood lead testing, and how to lower the risk of lead poisoning. – Spanish Translation Coming Soon

FLYERS FOR FAMILIES

  • Tips to Clean Lead Chips & Dust In Your Home For a Healthy Homeis an infographic from the New Mexico Department of Health. It is a step-by-step guide on how to safely clean up lead chips and dust from hard surfaces, wall-to-wall carpeting, and rugs in your home.
  • Lead Dust in Imported Mini-Blinds is an infographic from the New Mexico Department of Health. It describes how to identify if your blinds are a lead hazard, how to safely remove them if they are, and frequently asked questions from renters and those looking to purchase new blinds for their home.
  • Lead and Pregnancy: Keep Baby Safe is an infographic from the New Mexico Department of Health. It describes the do’s, don’ts, and best strategies to use to keep you and your baby safe from lead poisoning while pregnant.

  • Materials for providers include posters and flyers. Most are available in English and Spanish. These materials are aimed to educate providers about lead poisoning and help them educate and encourage families and individuals to test for lead.

    POSTERS FOR PROVIDERS

    • Can You Spot The Lead focuses on the lack of visible symptoms of lead poisoning and reviews the recommended testing schedule for children.
    • Leave The Lead Behind has information about lead poisoning prevention relevant to those who come into contact with lead at work or in their hobbies, and encourages them to follow safety tips to prevent tracking lead dust home. – Spanish Translation Coming Soon
    • Let Life Start Lead-Free is targeted towards pregnant women or those expecting to become pregnant.

    FLYERS FOR PROVIDERS

  • Childhood Lead Poisoning Provider Flyer provides healthcare providers with essential facts on CDC recommended lead testing, lead exposure sources, health risks, and an easy-to-read recommended actions and retesting timeline table based on blood lead level results.  – Spanish Translation Coming Soon

Where to Share Lead Outreach Materials


Use the outreach materials to share information about lead poisoning prevention. Post them in places frequented by families and those who work with or use lead in a hobby. Healthcare providers’ offices are an excellent place to display and distribute NvCLPPP materials. Other examples include childcare centers, places of worship, schools, or other community and social service organizations.
